Collecting donations of canned and boxed food items which will be used to create Thanksgiving holiday boxes that will be presented to the custodial, cafeteria and crossing guard staff of Brentfield and Dobie Primary in appreciation for their dedication to our children.

Babysitting will be available at WOGA
($30/child, $25/child for siblings)

The Auction Committee has extend the deadline to purchase tickets at $45/person until January 5, 2009.  After that date tickets will go up to $50/person.

We are looking for Auction Donations as well as Advertising.

For your convenience, check out the Auction Reservation and Sponsorship Form.  Once the form has been filled out, bring it by with your payment to either the Primary or Intermediate building and give it to Cindy or Linda to put it in the auction reservation box.

EXPERIENCE THE AWARENESS

Experience the Awareness, a program created by the mother of an Autistic child, allows students to "walk in another's shoes" to teach awareness of several different disabilities. The main portion of the program is an "obstacle course" containing 10 stations, highlighting 13 different disabilities. Participants wear simple equipment to simulate a disability or symptoms of a disability and then perform a simple everyday task "with the disability." This honest and unassuming program allows students to explore and understand disabilities through experience and teaches them to be accepting of diversity among human beings. We need 25 Parent volunteers to assist students.

Volunteer Training is Monday, December 8TH
10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Location TBA

The program will be on Wednesday, December 17th,
from 7:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Book Fair Safari!

Mark your calendars so you don't miss the Scholastic Book Fair.

The Fair will run from Monday, November 17 - Friday, November 21.

Hours are as follows:
Monday: 7:45 AM-3:45 PM Both Libraries
Tuesday: 7:00 AM-3:45 PM Intermediate Library 8:15 AM-3:45 PM Primary Library
Wednesday: 7:00 AM-3:45 PM Primary Library 8:15 AM-3:45 Intermediate Library
Thursday: 7:45 AM-3:45 PM and 5:30 PM-7:00 PM Both Libraries
Friday: 7:45 AM-10:00 AM Both Libraries

Make note of the special early shopping hours during the Dads Invasion breakfasts in both buildings, as well as the
evening hours on Thursday, November 20.

Proceeds benefit our wonderful Brentfield Libraries. Do some early holiday or birthday shopping, as books make
wonderful gifts!

Get a Media Cart for our Teachers!

Brentfield’s Multicultural Event

Thursday, January 22nd 6:30 p.m.

The PTA invites all Brentfield families to share their cultural backgrounds with others and to learn and

appreciate our diversity. Our first planning meeting will be the last week of October.

Need a little more time?
Sign up sheets will be posted in both building lobbies beginning November 17
th (not November 11th as originally communicated).
If your child is interested in performing in the Talent Show on either January 28
th or 29th, please be sure to sign up.

There will be 50 acts in all, and they will be filled on a first-come first served basis. Questions?

You can make a difference for Brentfield every time your shop for groceries! Just clip the Box Tops coupons from hundreds of your favorite products and send them to school in a zip top baggie with your child’s teachers name printed on the outside.
What an easy way to make money for Brentfield and your child's classroom. The money ollected will be used by each classroom teacher.
